Internship in HOLCIM

Why? After some years in AIESEC I really have this problem i don't know how actually to do nothing :) I know it sounds funny but after my June exams I had 2 weeks at home and i got bored. I went out and I had fun but 2 weeks were enough :). So I wanted to do something and i met one great person, Nebojsa HR manager in HOLCIM Serbia and I asked if it is possible to have internship in HOLCIM :) Yep, just like that :) It should be easy just if you try :)
When and where. So from the 20th of July to the 17th of August I actually lived in Paracin and had internship in Popovac where HOLCIM factory is situated. Those who really know me would say NO WAY :)

Firstly because I love Belgrade and I love big cities and Paracin in realy small :) and second because this period was the chance to travel and to meet all my friends around the Europe... What to say:) well I have changed :) I really didn't want to spend whole my summer without having opportunity to get to know something new and learn something...

Paracin/Popovac/Nis.Yes I love to travel but maybe this was a little more than I like :) Actually at the end of the internship I was really tired of traveling each weekend back home and each Monday morning back to Paracin. But I really enjoyed wakening up really early and listening to the music in the bus, I enjoyed the feeling when you really cant wait to go back home... I enjoyed more my time with my parents and my friends because i couldn't meet them during the week... I discovered it is so close, distances are nothing if you know what you want...

HOLCIM and people. I must say people in HOLCIM are very friendly. I really enjoyed talking to all of them especially with all the HR girls :) In HOLCIM a lot of time is spent on how to make employees better educated and more satisfied with the job they are doing and the environment they work in. It was sometimes challenging to get to know Vesna, Marija, Cana, Jelena and Bilja very close knowing I will leave in one month. It was really pleasure being part of HOLCIM people for one month. Thank you girls :)

My internship. At the beginning I really wanted to get to know CSR department closer because I really wanted to start building my career in that field. But, at the end it was very busy and very interesting in the HR department that I didn't have so much time to spend on CSR topic. Regarding my internship - i wasn't really responsible for anything, but I was allowed to be at the very interesting meetings, training development planning and some other HR stuff :). for me it was very useful first to understand how it all works in the company ( beside knowing how it works in AIESEC ) and having practical view on what is HR in production and multinational company really about:) The thing I liked the most is that I could ask as many questions I wanted :) - maybe sometimes I was really annoying :) So for having this opportunity I would like to really thank Milos. He really had a lot of patience with all my questions :)

HOTEL. It was interesting to live in a hotel :) - you can live a mass in the morning and when you come back everything is in order... but still I missed the felling of being at home (whatever the home means :)). You can check the hotel at www.petrus.co.yu

Cement production. It was amazing to get to know how the whole cement production function ;) Some of it you can see here http://www.holcim.com/gc/CS/flash/SCC/cement_01.html but the real feeling is to actually be there in HOLCIM :)

What I have learnt? A lot! I wouldn't like to put my learning points here but if you are interested I can always tell you over the coffee or chat :) 90% of my internship goals are met .. :) So it was really nice experience.

Thank you. I would like to thank all the people that made my time in Paracin and HOLCIM this interesting! Special thanks to Nebojsa Rako for giving me this opportunity.

Thast All wolks!

Enjoy...

I am an AIESECer

I am an AIESECer. I said this so many times :0). Sounds nice, more than half of my friends would never guess what does it mean... i am sure so many AIESECers never asked themselves what does it really mean in day to day life. Is it really just being the member of an organization... or is it a little more...
Met a lot of people. In past couple of mounts (as I have finished to be active in AIESEC and searching for the internship) I met so many different people... When I was talking about some of them i am very fortune to know, I said. .. He/she is real AIESECer, doesn't matter he or she wasn't in AIESEC at all... Know what I am talking about?
IC in Turkey. Last night I was chatting with AIESECer from Serbia that are at International Congress in Istanbul and I was watching different movies from the first 2 days... Oh, I felt like i miss all that... the feeling you are doing big and important thing... making the biggest and most important youth conference and meeting in whole world... more then 100 countries... 650 people... uh... just at that very moment I felt as an AIESECer... I felt all the things I want to change and improve... within myself and in my city, country... i remember the passion I had for all the ideas in AIESEC and I felt it again...
What does it mean to be and AIESEcer. So at the end of the day what does it mean to be and AIESECer? :) I want give any answer. I think we are all a little bit of AIESECers :) I would ratter ask you are you and AIESECer and why, where and how YOU ARE?
For me it is The matter of choice. The most important freedom you can ever have.

sve ima svoje
vrlin i greh

Jedna od onih pesama

taj prvi sneg igrom leptira noc prosara

sto nemira u mojim venama vrance otera

da pobegnem da negde nestanem

ti si tu

da poletim u san da odletim

ti i u snu...

sa krilima satkanim od sna

u liku tvom

od oblaka do strmog bezdana

u srcu mom

da pobegnem da negde ne stanem

ti si tu

da poletim u san da odletim

ti i u snu...
